Uyanda Zwane is a Senior Associate in the Litigation department.

Education and Credentials: Uyanda holds and an LLB degree from the University of South Africa. He has right of appearance in the High Court and is and admitted Notary Public.

Professional Experience: Uyanda has been in practice since 2021 and his most notable cases include inter ali: Maremane Communal Property Association v Minister of Police Station Commander: South African Police and Others; City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality v Occupiers of Erf 1168, City and Suburban, 44 Nugget Street, Johannesburg; Occupiers of Err 876-880 & Erf 882-887 Marlboro Township Gardens v  City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality; and SIU V Petrus Shaka Mazibuko and 7 others.Uyanda specialises in evictions with particularity in mass land and building invasions which is corroborated by some of his most notable cases. As a result, he has successfully advised and assisted clients in both the public and private sector.

Areas of Practice: In his tenure at Koikanyang Incorporated, Uyanda has acquired extensive experience in various areas of law including civil and commercial litigation in the Magistrate’s Court and High Court, Notary, Arbitrations, Disciplinary proceedings, Family law, Labour law, Aviation law, Insolvency law, Municipal law and compliance, Legal opinions, Drafting contracts, Evictions, Domestic disputes, Bail applications and Debt Collection.

Approach and Philosophy: Uyanda is passionate about the law and believes in finding pragmatic solutions to solving his client’s legal disputes in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Community Involvement: Having grown up in Alexandra Township, Uyanda is fully aware of the plight of many South Africans and their lack of financial resources to access efficient legal services. In light of this, he believes that all legal practitioners have a duty to give back to the community by providing legal services to the indigent on a pro bono basis. As an example, he has assisted several clients on a pro bono basis in Domestic Violence; Divorce; and Criminal matters.
