Ms. Matjeni is an admitted Attorney with a right of appearance in the High Court of South Africa. She holds an LLB degree from the University of Pretoria. She did her articles of clerkship at the University of Pretoria Law Clinic, where her main area of focus was inter alia on the following aspects of law, namely: Civil litigation, Public interest law (Evictions) Family law (Divorce, Custody, Maintenance & Domestic violence), Administration of Estates, Debt counselling. Drafting of Magistrates and High Court pleadings, legal research, advising on the law of damages, conducting Pension Law/Employee benefits enquiries on behalf of clients. Made numerous appearances in the Magistrates court and the then North Eastern Regional Divorce Court which sat in the Pretoria Regional Court.
In October 2012, Ms. Matjeni was appointed an Associate in the Litigation and Commercial Department of Makhubela Attorneys, where she acquired extensive experience on various areas of law including personal injury litigation for PRASA, Immigration Law for the Department of Home Affairs, Labour Law for general individual clients as well as for ICASA, corporate governance, commercial and corporate Law, Family Law, Criminal Law, assisting the senior partner of the firm in formulating Legal opinion for the Takeover Regulation Panel.
In August 2016, Ms. Matjeni was appointed a Senior Associate at Koikanyang Attorneys in the firm’s litigation department. Where she continues to gain valuable experience in Personal Injury litigation, Civil Litigation, Legal recoveries/ Debt collection, Labour Law and Eviction Law, Municipal By-Laws (contravention of town planning by-laws).
